Utilizing various philosophies and theory, our team will introduce you to a tools that aid in identify problems and opportunities with clients that enables us to care for them competently and compassionately.
Foundationally, we start from theory rooted in my training as a Critical Care Registered Nurse; the Nursing Process.
The Nursing Process functions as a systematic guide to client (patient)-centered care with 5 sequential and cyclical steps. These are assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Why this approach?
After a traumatic event that necessitates medical care, you’d typically see the medical staff perform various interventions to maintain balance (homeostasis) in the body as it heals. To do this, we must discover, acknowledge, and engage the injury. In fact some trauma requires extensive rehabilitation and the effects can last for years. This applies even more so to the unseen emotional, mental, and/or spiritual trauma that we all experience in our lives.
A note on Trauma. We speak opening about Trauma in our work and feel it’s important to name that trauma isn’t necessarily what happens to us, but rather how our bodies respond to what’s happened. This has profound implications for how our organizations functions, how we lead, and the capacity our communities have to remain in the practice of supportive care. Often due to the ways we are socialized, we may not even know trauma is there let alone that it's holding us back.
Is there repair work in your organization that needs to be uncovered? We are here to guide you through the process of becoming better human to one another.
“There is always enough time for the right work. There is a conversation in the room that only these people at this moment can have. Find it.”
